Riga, Latvia (Hybrid)
We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst who wants to do more than translate client requests into development tasks.
Your job is to understand the business need behind each request, investigate how the existing product and its underlying logic work, and help determine the best solution in the context of the product’s long-term direction.
Sometimes the right answer will be what the client initially requested. Often, it will be a different, simpler, or more scalable solution that achieves the client’s actual goal without creating unnecessary complexity or weakening the product.
This role requires structured thinking, technical curiosity, sound judgment, and the confidence to make and defend decisions. You’ll be expected to go deep — into the client’s business, the product, its data, algorithms, code, integrations, and existing constraints — before recommending what should be built.
The client owns the business need. You own the analysis and help determine the best solution.
Discover the real business need behind a client’s stated request — including the problem, desired outcome, constraints, and business value
Challenge proposed solutions constructively when a better approach exists
Investigate the existing product before proposing changes: understand its architecture, data model, business rules, algorithms, integrations, configuration options, and technical constraints
Design solutions that balance client needs, implementation effort, maintainability, and the long-term direction of the product
Make independent, well-reasoned decisions and clearly explain the trade-offs to both client stakeholders and developers
Identify when a client-specific request should become a reusable product capability — and when it should not
Work directly with developers and AI tools to explore solution options, validate assumptions, and refine technical designs
Use SQL to investigate data, test hypotheses, troubleshoot issues, and support decision-making
Read and trace existing code to understand actual system behaviour, identify root causes, and evaluate the impact of proposed changes
Analyse complex workflows and algorithms, including edge cases, dependencies, and failure scenarios
Define clear acceptance criteria and create test plans that verify both the requested outcome and the integrity of the wider system
Run demos and solution discussions with stakeholders, turning feedback into clear decisions and next steps
Keep documentation clear, current, and focused on decisions, business rules, and system behaviour
A good solution does more than reproduce what the client originally described. It:
Solves the underlying business problem
Fits coherently into the existing product
Supports the direction in which we want the product to evolve
Avoids unnecessary client-specific complexity
Is understandable, maintainable, testable, and scalable
Accounts for existing workflows, data, integrations, dependencies, and edge cases
Has clear trade-offs that can be explained to both business and technical stakeholders
You’ll likely be a strong fit if you have:
Senior-level experience in business and/or systems analysis in complex software products
Strong logical and systems thinking — you can break down complex problems, trace dependencies, and reason about edge cases
A habit of investigating before proposing: you want to understand why the system works as it does, not only what needs to change
The ability to distinguish a client’s stated solution from their underlying business need
Confidence to challenge requests constructively and propose a better solution supported by clear reasoning
Strong product judgment — you can balance an individual client’s needs with the consistency, scalability, and long-term direction of the product
The ability to make decisions with incomplete information while making assumptions and risks explicit
The persistence to follow a problem across business processes, data, configuration, integrations, and code until the actual cause is understood
The ability to communicate not only what should change, but why this approach is better than the alternatives
Confidence in taking accountability for solution decisions rather than escalating every ambiguity
Experience using SQL to analyse and troubleshoot data
Enough technical understanding to read and trace existing code and reason about system behaviour
Strong spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with international clients, stakeholders, and development teams
The legal right to work in the EU
A calm, constructive, and dependable working style — able to work through complex or ambiguous situations without losing structure or momentum
AI is an important part of how we work, but it does not replace judgment.
We expect you to use AI to investigate faster, explore alternatives, analyse data and code, improve documentation, and automate repetitive work — while remaining responsible for the accuracy and quality of the final decision.
You can use company-approved AI tools wherever they create value, while respecting client confidentiality, security requirements, and professional judgment.
You don’t need to build your identity around being “AI-first.” What matters is that you’re curious, willing to use modern tools effectively, and able to combine them with strong analytical thinking and professional judgment.

A democratic and collaborative work environment, helpful colleagues, a high level of autonomy, and the opportunity to directly influence technological and product direction.

If your instinct is to ask “What problem are we actually solving?”, understand the existing system before changing it, and find the best balance between client value and long-term product development, we’d like to hear from you.
